Moose Charlap and his writing partner, Eddie Lawrence, shared an eye for Modernist art—Lawrence had studied painting under Fernand Léger after the war, and both men filled their homes with art purchased from young artists in Paris. This sweater, with its abstracted colorblocking and embroidered face, is an homage to their art collections.
